This week in Christian education (Sept. 12–16) 

Christians schools and homeschools continuing to boom – New stories of the exodus of families from public schools to Christian schools and homeschools show that families are continuing to seek better alternatives for educating their children. Read more here and here. 

A Tennessee Christian school launches new campus – Lakeway Christian Schools in East Tennessee opened Boones Creek Christian Academy in the Tri-Cities Region. Boones Creek is Lakeway’s second campus in the Tri-Cities area and opened on Sept. 7. Read more. 

A South Dakota Christian school is expanding building – Sioux Falls Christian School is set to add additional classrooms to its elementary wing to match the school’s growth. Over the course of 15 years, the school has grown from a student population of 600 to 1,300. Read more. 

Christian school was without a building weeks before the start of school when a local church stepped in – Vandalia Christian Academy of Vandalia, Illinois lost their school space just a few weeks before the school year began, but a local church provided the school with the space they needed at just the right time.
