A San Diego mom ridiculed school board officials over their promotion of a drag show for Halloween billed as a “queerfest.”
In a viral video shared online, Brittany Mayer called the Encinitas Union School District “groomers and activist pimps” for “planning” the Halloween party that features a drag show.
The event is sponsored by a San Francisco gay bar and Align Surgical Associates, which Mayer tweeted is “a gender reassignment surgery center.”
“We’re done mincing words,” Mayer stated in the tweet accompanying the video. “While we have a culture that has a huge problem with child porn and with sex trafficking, Encinitas Union School District in CA made the decision to feature an event to sexualize young children. We will call it exactly what it is.”
In the video, Mayer can be seen confronting the school board, to the approval of the other parents in attendance.
“What is it about a grown man costumed in a sparkly bra with augmented boobs busting out, a leather miniskirt barely covering his twerking a– with duct tape on his front while spreading his fish-netted legs as he writhes on the ground, grinding his groin next to a minor, family-friendly?” Mayer asks the board before demanding an apology.
“You all played the activist pimp for Align Surgical center and for a 21-plus gay bar,” she proclaims. “It makes you groomers and activist pimps and we won’t have those sitting on a school board that oversees the education of our children.”
Plans for the Oct. 29 “Boo Bash” outraged dozens of parents, Mayer told Tucker Carlson in an interview for Fox News. When repeated requests that the district stop promoting the event and issue an apology were refused, Mayer and others descended upon the school board meeting to confront the officials responsible.
“We asked the board again and again to reconsider and to issue an apology and an explanation, which they didn’t, which is why we decided to show up,” she said.
Mayer told Carlson she hoped to inspire other parents who have not spoken out for fear of punishment or retribution.
“I hope this breeds courage for parents all over the nation who see this trend starting to change, where our kids are not being educated in the fundamentals. They’re being hyper-sexualized, and we’re done with this,” she said.
Mayer also implored parents not to let the other side define all the terms in the debate, where officials are pushing radical ideology by using intentionally vague, meaningless language.
“You can slap labels on anything. You can make anything ‘family-friendly’ that you want. And that’s the danger of this ideology, is that we’re being told to use new terms and new language. I think we do a disservice when we play by those rules,” she said.
“We need to stand up and use the words that we know what they mean. They’re pimping out our kids …it’s coming all over the nation, and we need to now use brave words and words with meaning and call it like it is.”
Since Mayer and the other angry parents confronted the school board, the district has reportedly taken down fliers promoting the event, stating the flier did not meet “district approval criteria.”
A local ABC News affiliate is also reporting the district has “reviewed and adjusted procedures for approving fliers in the future.”
