A Tennessee Christian school’s golf team received a huge gift last week from pro golfer Brandt Snedeker.

Snedeker gave $30,000, and the Tennessee Golf Foundation added another $25,000, to construct a golf practice facility on Nashville Christian School’s campus. The facility will include a putting green and hitting nets.

“Giving these kids access to golf they probably wouldn’t have had elsewhere is something that we’re excited about and we’re happy,” Snedeker told local media. “I can’t wait to get this facility open in the spring and get these kids out here playing golf.”

The practice facility will also be available to other young players outside of Nashville Christian, including the Tennessee School for the Blind, under the direction of Dr. Chad NeSmith.

NeSmith won multiple United States Blind Golf Association championships, and says the new facility at Nashville Christian will be a “priceless” opportunity for his players.

“Let me tell you something, this is the greatest game that there’s ever been,” NeSmith told The Nashville Post. “It saved my life from depression. I know it can for others, so again, I am so thankful that this thing is gonna happen. Disability doesn’t mean you can’t do it.”

Nashville Christian School is a Pre-K through 12th grade college prep Christian school with an enrollment just under 900 students. The school held a dedication and check presentation ceremony last week to receive Snedeker’s gift.
