A high school teacher in Oregon outraged parents after giving students an assignment to write about their sexual fantasies.

But thus far, the teacher, the high school, the district and the state are failing to take responsibility for what one school board member described as “an abuse of power” against kids.

“You will write a short story of a paragraph or two. This story is a sexual fantasy that will have NO penetration of any kind or oral sex (no way of passing an STI),’’ the assignment read according to the New York Post.

“You will choose 3 items (romantic music, candles, massage oil, feather, feather boa, flavored syrup, etc) to use in your story,” the instructions continued. “Your story should show that you can show and receive loving physical affection without having sex.”

The assignment was reportedly given by health teacher Kirk Miller of Churchill High School in Eugene.

A previous assignment was also reportedly discovered, called “With Whom Would You Do It?” Students were required to write the initials of both a boy and a girl with whom the student would be willing to commit sex acts, including penetration.

“If an adult male asked my daughter to share her sexual fantasies with him, I would be livid and be going to the police,” one parent said. “No teacher has any business asking this of a child.”

Churchill High School principal Missy Cole further complicated matters by claiming the assignment was adopted from the state’s health curriculum, “Our Whole Lives” (OWL).

“At this time, the assignment has been removed from the class syllabus and will not be a part of students’ grades,” Cole told parents, according to a Fox News report. “The OWL curriculum is utilized by many districts across the state and is endorsed by the Oregon Department of Education.”

Upset parents weren’t satisfied with the passing of the buck.

“The district reviews these curriculums before they get approved, right?” asked Katherine Rogers, whose 16-year-old daughter attends Churchill, according to Oregon Live. “Did they actually read this? If this was reviewed, how did it slip through the cracks? I could see this easily becoming a national scandal.”

Another parent claimed his daughter felt forced to participate in lab activities that made her “very, very, very uncomfortable,” Fox News reported.

“Especially when [the teacher] put up the generated spinning wheel, and it had anal penetration and oral sex up there,” parent Justin McCall said. “Her and her best friend did not participate in that. But they still got graded.”

The OWL curriculum goes back to 2016, said local CBS News KEZI, which first reported on the scandal.

The district claims parents were told about the curriculum in 2018, which raises the question of how long these types of assignments have been used.

The district further claims that parents were provided a copy of the syllabus at the start of the school year so that they could decide to op-out their child.

However, the district said it is also working to find out how the assignments happened, which seems to indicate some degree of culpability.

The state pointed the finger back at the district in a statement to the New York Post, claiming the assignments were part of “unauthorized” and “out-of-context” activity.

KEZI reports that the district superintendent has approved a process to remove the OWL curricula.

However, no one is currently being held responsible for what school board member Gordon Lafer characterized as “an abuse of power.”

“I believe that requiring students to write down and turn in sexual fantasies as part of a class assignment is an abuse of power and an invasion of students’ privacy,” Lafer told the Post.

“It is the responsibility of the Board and District to make sure that students are not given inappropriate material,” he added.
