Arkansas has allocated $2 million in grants for pro-life pregnancy centers in its 2025-26 spending bill.

Signed into law by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders last week, the measure passed unanimously in both chambers of the GOP-controlled legislature.

The law defines a “pregnancy help organization” as a nonprofit that aims “to provide a range of services to individuals facing an unintended pregnancy with the intention of encouraging pregnant women to give birth to their unborn children.”

Organizations eligible for such grants include crisis pregnancy centers, maternity homes, adoption agencies and social service agencies that offer prenatal care, maternal healthcare and nutritional support for expectant mothers.

Only organizations that don’t offer or refer women to abortions can receive this funding.

The news received rave reviews from social media users on X. One woman responded to the news by writing, “God Bless you. Pro-Life pregnancy centers help so many families ❤️.”

Another user added, “This is the exact way a prolife government needs to fight abortion.”

Additionally, one user posted, “BABIES are GD’S gift…BLESS you Sarah…”

It’s not the first time the state has offered funding for pro-life pregnancy centers.

“Since 2022, Family Council has worked with the Arkansas Legislature and the governor to secure funding every year for pregnancy resource centers. These state-funded grants have helped support dozens of charities that assist women and children in Arkansas,” the Arkansas Family Council told the Christian Post.

Nor is it the only pro-life legislation Sanders has recently signed into law. Last month she also signed a measure requiring a discussion about fetal development in state education standards.

Additionally, Kansas provided $3 million in funding for pro-life pregnancy centers last month after overriding a veto of the measure by Democrat Gov. Laura Kelly.

“Great job, Kansas! 💯👏🏻💪 Now replace your sorry governor with a good one!” one X user posted in response to the news.

“Praise God! What an awesome victory,” another wrote

In 2022, 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers nationwide provided over $350 million in goods and services to expectant mothers, according to a report from the Charlotte Lozier Institute.

The amount of support they’ve provided in more recent years is likely higher. In the two years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, states had allocated about $500 million to pregnancy resource centers, CBS News reported last year.

Arkansas is one of 12 states that ban abortion; another four ban it after six weeks, once the unborn baby’s heartbeat can be detected.
