A California high school teacher berated a pro-Trump student and called Christians a “bunch of losers.”
In footage obtained by education expert Corey DeAngelis, Chino High School teacher Clyde Colinco verbally berated a student for expressing support for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
In a video covertly taken by another student, Colinco yelled at a student and said, “Can you send security up? I have a boy who has a Trump hat on and I’m not going to tolerate it today.”
He then said students who supported Trump were voting for “a rapist and a child molester.”
“Vote for that freaking rapist,” Colinco continued. “I have a daughter, three nieces, and he’d rape them, and people are voting for him. Christians are voting for him, bunch of losers. Fake Christians.”
“People voting for a freaking rapist and I’m pissed off,” he concluded. “I don’t care, fire the hell out of me. I’m fighting for my daughter, my nieces, their rights.”
Though it’s not clear from the footage, DeAngelis says the incident took place on Election Day.
According to the Chino High School website, Colinco teaches English and coaches golf. As of 2023, his salary was nearly $120,000 a year.
The Chino school district’s motto is “Student Achievement, Safe Schools, Positive School Climate.”
In San Bernardino County, where the district is located, Trump received the majority of votes (50.75%). Harris received 46.84%.
Chino’s school board president Sonja Shaw told a local Fox News affiliate Colinco’s behavior was “unacceptable.”
Though she didn’t outline any specific disciplinary measures, Shaw said “If this teacher unfortunately has to be the example of what not to do, we need to move forward.”
Colinco did not respond to Fox’s request for comment.
Other educators have also reacted poorly to Trump’s victory.
In a rant on social media, one college administrator from Oregon was placed on leave after he told Trump supporters, “You are f***ing stupid and I hope you go jump off of a f***ing bridge.”
One school in New York City even allowed students to take the day off after the election, saying it “may be a high-stakes and emotional time for our community.”
