Christian schools across the country are enrolling students for the 2023-24 school year, building on historic gains in student numbers over the last several years.

For some schools, the enrollment increases created opportunities for facility and curricula expansions.

Janet Swartz, admission coordinator for Ozaukee Christian School in West Bend, Wisconsin, says the school will host an enrollment information night on Jan. 24 and aims to build on several years’ trend of serving more students.

“We market our enrollment event to new families, and typically we have a great turnout of seekers – families wanting to check us out and see what an OCS education is like,” Swartz told The Lion.

“Our enrollment is at an all-time high, thanks to a combination of factors,” she said. “We moved to a new location in 2019 and nearly doubled in size since then. It’s been exciting.”

In Washington state, Seattle Christian School will host an open house for prospective families on Feb. 2. The open house is an opportunity for prospective students to tour the school, meet faculty, staff and current students, and see what the school has to offer.

Seattle Christian was established 75 years ago and was the first non-denominational Christian school in the area. School personnel say they are serving “record numbers” of families.

At Lincoln Christian School in Lincoln, Nebraska, enrollment season included a preschool open house and an event celebrating the school’s new $7 million dollar classroom and athletics facility.

LCS Superintendent Zach Kassebaum told local media that LCS has seen a 35% enrollment increase in the last five years. The new 40,000 square foot athletics and classroom facility will help meet the needs of a growing student population.

“We look forward to gathering as a school family and giving God the glory for who He is and the amazing ways He has and continues to provide at Lincoln Christian School,” Kassebaum said in a press release.

“More students than ever before are receiving an education at LCS unapologetically rooted in God’s Truth.”
