A public university recently held a drag show to raise money for LGBT-based scholarships, Campus Reform reports

The $4,000 in tips and donations from the April 6 show at Colorado State University (CSU) will “support students on campus,” according to the university’s Pride Resource Center.

“Get ready to watch FIERCE performances from CSU Students, Faculty, Local and Denver Drag Performers AND our headliner, Denver’s own KHRYS’TAAAL,” an event description said

Center Director Maggie Hendrickson called it “a special and meaningful night,” according to the Rocky Mountain Collegian.

Two LGBT-specific scholarships are available for the school’s students, according to the center.

“We have some options that are intentionally created to support those impacted by issues related to the LGBTQ+ community and those who have demonstrated involvement and commitment to LGBTQ+ related progress,” the school’s website says

Other events the center plans to sponsor include a 5K Rainbow Run on June 14, with proceeds going to its Pride Scholarship Fund.

“We will be celebrating Pride Month with a festive rainbow-themed 5K and 1-mile kids’ fun run on campus on Saturday, June 14th,” the Pride Resource Center wrote on Instagram. “Our event proudly honors the memory of Sam, a CSU alumni who passed away a few years ago. Bright colors & rainbows are encouraged. Check in begins at 7 AM and the race begins at 8 AM at the Oval. Register through the link in our bio – all are welcome!”
