Female teachers in New Jersey and Florida are facing charges for alleged sexual relationships with minor students, including one where the student apparently fathered the teacherâs child.
Laura Caron, 34, was indicted for allegedly having an affair with a male student from the time he was 11 until the boy turned 15, Fox News reports.

Caron, who formerly taught 5th grade at Middle Township Elementary School in southern New Jersey, reportedly befriended the boy and his family. The boy and his siblings even moved into Caronâs home from 2016 to 2020, the same time the alleged abuse took place.
Police began an investigation after the boyâs father posted last year that Caronâs 5-year-old child looked like his son, according to court documents. One of Caron’s friends said the teacher had told friends the child’s father was “out of the picture,” the New York Post reported.
The boy told police he was in a sexual relationship with Caron and that he had fathered her child when he was 13.
She was arrested in January and indicted by a grand jury last week. Charges include aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering a childâs welfare. She faces between 20 and 40 years in prison if convicted on all charges, prosecutors said.
Classroom sex at lunchÂ
In Florida, a math teacher is out on bond after she was arrested and charged with allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old student in her classroom during lunch.
Sarah Jacas, 32, was arraigned Tuesday and released from the Orange County Jail Wednesday after posting $19,000 bond.

Officials allege Jacas, who is married, developed a sexual relationship with the student, who is now 16, between December 2022 and April 2023, Fox News reported.
The student reportedly spent lunch periods in her classroom at Corner Lake Middle School in Orlando because he âhad issues fitting in and associating with the right crowd,” according to the affidavit.
The boyâs parents reportedly discovered a texting relationship between the pair, which they cut off, but their communication continued through Instagram.
The relationship ended after Jacasâ husband discovered it and threatened to report her, according to the affidavit. The couple has a 12-year-old child, Fox reported.
Jacasâ charges include two counts of lewd or lascivious battery, two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of a sex offense involving an authority figure/statutory rape.
She is not permitted to have any contact with the student or any witnesses, and will not be allowed to return to the school pending the ongoing investigation by law enforcement and the Orange County Public Schoolsâ Office of Professional Standards.
