A former All-Star baseball player is calling out New York U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her hypocritical outrage after the terror attack on Jews in Boulder.

Former All-Star Major League Baseball player Kevin Youkilis, who is Jewish, took to X to blast the Democrat socialist lawmaker for her professed concern over the fiery June 1 assault on a peaceful gathering for the hostages held by Hamas.

What about the calls for a pro-Palestinian uprising in the streets of her own city, he wants to know.

“Jews are targeted with violence and it’s the same virtue signal post time and time again,” Youkilis posted while quoting Ocasio-Cortez. “What have you done to confront those calling for intifadas in NYC?  Until you create a plan of action, your repeated virtue signaling after the violence occurs holds no weight.”

Ocasio-Cortez condemned the Boulder attack online, though the New York Post reported in 2023 that she had “voted against condemning Hamas, against condemning antisemitism on college campuses and against aid to Israel.”

“I am horrified by last night’s horrific attack in Boulder,” she posted. “My heart is with the victims and our Jewish communities across the country. Antisemitism is on the rise here at home, and we have a moral responsibility to confront and stop it everywhere it exists.”

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian in the U.S. illegally, used Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower to injure at least a dozen protestors participating in a solidarity walk for Israeli hostages taken by Hamas during the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks against Israel. During the Boulder attack, the man yelled, “Free Palestine.”

The attacker faces up to 624 years in federal prison if convicted on all the charges he faces.

Youkilis is a strong Israel supporter; he served as the hitting coach for Team Israel in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He also visited Israel for the first time in February 2025.

“It has been one of the most eye-opening trips I’ve ever had in my life,” he told the Jerusalem Post. “From everything that Israel is about and stands for, it was truly a special trip to come here for my first time.”

Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez is one of Israel’s biggest critics in Congress.

She accused the Middle Eastern country of genocide against the Palestinian people in a March 2024 House floor speech.

“If you want to know what an unfolding genocide looks like, open your eyes,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “It looks like the forced famine of 1.1 million innocents. It looks like thousands of children eating grass as their bodies consume themselves, while trucks of food are slowed and halted just miles away.”

When asked to articulate her criticisms of Israel in a 2018 PBS interview, the lawmaker said she was “not the expert on geopolitics on this issue.”
