Gina Carano, the actress who was unceremoniously fired from her role on “The Mandalorian” in 2021, has settled her lawsuit against Disney/Lucasfilm.

An outspoken Christian who played Cara Dune, Carano thanked Elon Musk – whom she has never met but who funded her attorneys in the case – along with her fans and God for their support.

“I am humbled and grateful to God for his love and grace in this outcome,” she posted on X. “I am excited to flip the page and move on to the next chapter. My desires remain in the arts, which is where I hope you will join me. Yes, I’m smiling. From my heart to yours, Gina.”

The former mixed martial arts fighter was fired for social media posts the company called “abhorrent and unacceptable” for “denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities.” Many viewed her as a victim of “cancel culture” prevalent during that time.

Carano, who objected to masks and other measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, posted on her Instagram, “Most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

She also reportedly refused to meet with an LGBTQ+ rights group and a group of LGBTQ+ employees at Disney, which contributed to her firing – an action her lawsuit called “bullying, discriminatory, and retaliatory.”

The company issued a statement praising Carano’s skill and work ethic, and hinting at future roles.

“Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect,” a spokesperson said. “With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.”
