(The Daily Signal) – A New Hampshire public school district allowed a radical LGBTQ group to teach staff that student safety is “jeopardized” when teachers share gender identity issues with parents.

GLSEN, which is known for promoting LGBTQ ideology to young children and schools, provided trainings to staff of School Administrative Unit 53 in 2021, as well as documents including a “Safe Space Kit,” which states that revealing the gender identity of students to parents is dangerous.

“Although it may be hard to believe, there are students whose emotional and physical safety were jeopardized when school staff outed them to other students and even family members,” the “Safe Space Kit” says.

Parents Defending Education submitted a public records request seeking any guidance on transgender issues from School Administrative Unit 53, located in Pembroke, New Hampshire, 20 minutes from the state capital, Concord.

The parental rights organization keeps a list of more than 1,130 school districts across the country that openly instruct school districts to conceal a student’s transgender status from parents.

Parents Defending Education obtained the “Safe Space Kit,” as well as other GLSEN training materials and the school district’s policies on “Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students.”

The leaders of GLSEN are “notorious bad actors who infiltrate schools with the explicit intent to undermine parental rights,” Casey Ryan, investigative reporter at Parents Defending Education, told The Daily Signal.

“Any school district that partners with GLSEN to prioritize gender ideology over education has no right to claim that they care about their students or their families,” Ryan said. “Time and resources spent on activist groups like GLSEN are better spent preparing children for the real world.”

The school district’s transgender policy makes a statement that suggests parents may be not be informed of their child’s gender identity.

“Administrators and school staff shall also give due weight to the role of parents and guardians in making decisions regarding their child,” the policy vaguely states.

The “Transgender Info” document obtained by Parents Defending Education encourages teachers to consider “is the student out to their parents; are they supportive/unsupportive.” The next sentence in the document asks: “If unsupportive, what does that mean for us at school, i.e. preferred name/pronouns?”

The district did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment about whether it allows children to socially transition at school without parental involvement.

The New Hampshire public school district also provided Parents Defending Education with a “gender support plan” for students that asks whether children are “transgender,” “gender nonconforming,” “gender nonbinary,” “gender-fluid,” or “transitioning.”

Students are allowed to use plural “they/them” pronouns, as well as the restroom and locker room that corresponds with their so-called gender identity.
