Abbie Stockard, the newly crowned winner of the 2025 Miss America competition, is openly sharing her Christian faith and support for conservative values.
“I am very driven by my faith,” Stockard told Fox News in an interview after her January victory. “Based on the morals and the values that my family taught me, I believe that every single person is called to make a difference.”
“I think our world is broken,” Stockard also said. “I think it is polarized and divided, and I want to be a light. I want to be an inspiration, and I want to make every single person feel seen, valued and appreciated, because that is who the Lord is. That’s what He would want me to do. And I know that I was anointed to this position for a purpose, and that’s why I’m not going to take it for granted.”
Stockard, a nursing student who competes on a dance team at Auburn University, will pause her studies to complete her year of service as Miss America, after which she plans to return to Auburn to complete her degree.
“Thanks to the Miss America organization, I’ve been awarded over $89,000 in scholarships, which is allowing me to complete Auburn’s BSN program completely debt-free,” Stockard shared in an interview with her university.
“I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities ahead and for the chance to combine my passion for nursing with the opportunity to make a lasting difference in patients’ lives.”
Throughout the Miss America competition, Stockard intentionally incorporated her faith into her creative decisions.
During the talent portion of the pageant, for example, Stockard performed a contemporary dance accompanied by the music of Lauren Daigle, a well-known Christian artist.
Stockard has also been unashamed to display her support for conservative values.
The newly minted Miss America attended inauguration events for President Donald Trump and was photographed wearing a custom dress that read “Make America Healthy Again.”
The 22-year-old plans to use her time as Miss America to advocate for the American Heart Association’s “Go RED for Women” initiative. Stockard will also continue her ongoing efforts to bolster funding for cystic fibrosis research – a diagnosis she says has touched her life personally, as her best friend lives with the condition.
