(Daily Caller News Foundation) – Police arrested the principal of Bixby High School in Oklahoma at the Fall Dance on Sept. 28 and the school district announced his termination Monday.
Mickey Replogle was initially suspended for allegedly smelling like alcohol and touching the students inappropriately on the dance floor, 2 News Oklahoma reported. The Fall Dance took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa.
According to jail records cited by the local outlet, he was arrested for public intoxication at 11:35 p.m. The school district confirmed to the Daily Caller that Replogle was arrested.
“Based on initial reports, I immediately suspended Mr. Replogle from all duties pending a thorough inquiry,” a Sept. 29 letter to parents from the district superintendent, Bob Miller, stated. “The district takes these allegations very seriously and is prepared to respond further once information is confirmed.”
“Several students” reported the alleged inappropriate behavior. A follow up letter to parents Sept. 30 stated the principal would no longer be working in the district.
“Mr. Replogle will no longer be employed by Bixby Schools,” the letter states. “However, our commitment to addressing this incident does not end here. The district will continue to actively support the Tulsa Police Department’s ongoing investigation.”
The letter added that counseling would be available for students.
Individuals with additional information about the case can contact the Tulsa Police Department, the district superintendent, or a school administrator or counselor.
Bixby Public Schools was in the news this past August when Miller filed a defamation lawsuit against Ryan Walters, the State Superintendent, according to KFOR.
The Daily Caller contacted the school district for further comment and details but it would only confirm the arrest.
