Pastor Russell Johnson called out Seattle’s leaders for their silence after a church member was gunned down outside a service at Pursuit Northwest.

“Shame on them for their political cowardice and their moral incompetence,” Johnson said in his weekend message following the Thursday night shooting of Lebron Givuan.

Johnson had particular words for Mayor Bruce Harrell, who criticized the church for holding a worship event in a public park in May.

“It was the same mayor of Seattle who encouraged violence against our church after our worship event at Cal Anderson Park,” he said. “And on Thursday that violence resulted in the death of one of our members. It is absolutely morally reprehensible that those same leaders are silent now.”
