At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. — Matthew 11:25-27 NKJV
Jesus’ words recorded in Matthew 11:27 should cause every Christian to examine their relationship with Christ—everything we understand regarding our great need for Jesus in our lives, certainly for eternal salvation. But think about the purpose of our lives that He brings, the peace experienced when there are no answers—the hope of eternal glory when everything around you seems bleak. But in light of all that, Jesus reveals Himself to whom He wills. Let me ask you: “What is He revealing to you, even today?”
Christianity is unique from other religions due to our RELATIONSHIP with our living and interactive God. He hears us; He leads us; He talks with us; He reveals to us.
And so, I’ll ask again, “What is He leading, speaking, and revealing to you in this season of your journey?” I encourage you to listen and walk in it! And as you lead others, even children and students, help them understand this kind of interactive relationship with God. This is not a deluxe edition of Christianity; It is normal, biblical Christianity.
I pray you can carve out time to be still, enjoy time with, and listen to the God who reveals.
