NASA helps Louisiana Christian school students build model rockets – Ouachita Christian School in Monroe, Louisiana received a special class from NASA’s Education and Outreach program. Eighth graders got hands-on experience building model rockets and competing in launch tests. “Anytime you can bring real life situations into your school into your classroom, it makes such a difference,” said Jayme Stokes, the school’s principal. Christian school students send Valentine’s cards to hospital patients – Students from Naperville Christian Academy in Illinois celebrated Valentine’s Day by sending cards to pediatric patients at a local hospital. The cards will contribute to the hospital’s Child Life Program, which helps children and their families navigate the hospital environment. Read more here.

Christian school hosts robotics tournament – More than 100 Mississippi students gathered at Lamar Christian School for a robotics competition. “It’s really cool,” said the school’s robotics coach Anika Ravi. “You get to see like different schools, different ways that teams kind of get together and make a whole qualification match happen.” Noah McCord, a student, spoke of the sense of camaraderie he felt: “It’s a lot of like-minded people in there with you.” The Christian school team also received the Inspire Award. Christian school opens new building – Aboite Christian School in Indiana is hosting a ribbon cutting for its new 8,000 square foot school building. The building has updated security features and a new gymnasium. The school “exists to provide a quality education for our students, where they can develop a passion for learning in the context of an Adventist-Christian setting.” Read more here.

Christian school hosts annual chocolate-themed fundraiser – Community Christian Academy in Ohio held its 12th annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fest featuring desserts such as brownies, truffles, fudge and a chocolate fountain. The proceeds of the fundraiser will help the K-12 school with building updates and purchasing new technology. The school also welcomes homeschoolers interested in part-time classes. Read more here.
