Two conservative organizations are uniting teachers and students who defend America’s founding values through a new collaboration: Teacher Freedom Alliance (TFA) and Turning Point USA’s Club America.

“This partnership ensures that students everywhere have the opportunity to connect with educators who not only value their input and free speech, but who also agree that America’s education system must be restored – not weaponized,” TFA said in a press release, provided to The Lion.

TFA is a network of “freedom-minded, conservative educators,” the release said, and offers an alternative to ideological unions to support teachers if they ever face legal pressure, TFA Director of Communications Madison Cercy told The Lion.

“We represent good teachers who want to get back to academics, want to teach our kids love of country and make sure that our kids are learning at the highest rate possible,” TFA CEO Ryan Walters said in a video announcing the collaboration on X.

Club America supports more than 14,000 high school students in 1,200 clubs across the country “to organize, lead, and advocate for the values that built this nation,” according to the release.

“Club America is proud to partner with the Teacher Freedom Alliance to defend and support educators who advance freedom, traditional values, and patriotic citizenship. Teachers who advise our Club America chapters routinely face backlash for simply empowering student leaders. That ends today,” Enterprise Director for Club America Nick Cocca said in a statement. “They now have a dedicated alliance that will stand behind them.”

The collaboration will connect educators, develop leaders and coordinate advocacy efforts so that “America’s classrooms once again reflect the principles of freedom, responsibility, and opportunity,” according to the release.

Teachers who face social objection for supporting Club America now have TFA as an ally, Enterprise Director for Club America Nick Cocca said in a post on X.

In step with National School Choice Week, Cercy said TFA supports school choice as competition to teacher unions’ imposed “one-size-fits-all ideology and control.” While the timing of TFA and Club America’s partnership “aligns in principle” with National School Choice Week, the primary focus of the collaboration is to support educators, Cercy said.

“Educators deserve choices, too. Supporting good teachers and giving them real options – professional, ideological, and organizational – is essential if we want to rebuild American education,” she said.
