President Donald Trump will visit Ohio and Kentucky on Wednesday to highlight his administration’s economic policies and address voter concerns about the cost of living ahead of the midterm elections.
“President Trump will visit the great states of Ohio and Kentucky on Wednesday to tout his economic victories and detail his Administration’s aggressive, ongoing efforts to lower prices and make America more affordable,” White House spokeswoman Liz Huston told The Lion.
Trump is expected to highlight lower drug prices through his recently launched website, TrumpRx.gov, during a stop at a pharmaceutical company in Cincinnati. He will deliver remarks in Kentucky later in the afternoon.
The White House told The Lion that “Kentuckians are better off under President Trump,” citing tax savings, arrests of “hundreds of criminal illegal aliens off of Kentucky’s streets,” and manufacturing projects from Apple, Toyota and other companies in the state that will “generate hundreds of jobs.”
The Kentucky leg of Wednesday’s trip will take Trump to the district of Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, a frequent critic of the president on issues including the Epstein files and U.S. strikes in Iran.
Trump said Wednesday that “I predict ‘Representative’ Thomas Massie will go down as the WORST Republican Congressman in the long and fabled history of the United States Congress,” adding that he hopes Massie will “lose BIG” in the Republican primary.
Trump has endorsed retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein in hopes he will unseat Massie in the Republican primary.
“I am asking all MAGA Warriors to rally behind Captain Ed Gallrein, the Candidate who is, far and away, best positioned to DEFEAT Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday.
Asked about Trump’s visit to his district and the president’s remarks on Truth Social, Massie’s office referred The Lion to his statement posted Wednesday on X.
“I predict ‘President’ DJT will begrudgingly sign my beautiful Epstein Files Transparency Act, causing beleaguered princes and ambassadors and prime ministers and CEOs around the world to be arrested or resign in total shame,” Massie wrote. “Oh wait, that already happened.”
