In protest of the United Kingdom’s recent restrictions on freedom of expression, a pub in Brighton, England, has renamed itself “The George Orwell,” in honor of the 1984 author who described an overreaching state.
Slogans from Orwell’s book are projected onto the side of the pub, including “War is peace,” “Freedom is slavery,” and the ominous “Big Brother is watching you.”
The reel includes footage of Prime Minister Keir Starmer laughing and shaking his head in a deranged manner.
Multiple Britons have complained after reportedly being arrested for social media posts or after their English flags have been removed.
