Blue states tend to have governments that “promise more, cost more, but deliver less,” said CNN host Fareed Zakaria Sunday.

Zakaria, who hosts a weekly show called GPS, or Global Public Square, said America’s affordability crisis “tends to be in places Democrats govern, like New York, Illinois and California, which all feature high taxes, soaring housing costs and stagnant outcomes in basic areas like education and infrastructure.”

Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany played a clip from Zakaria’s show and expressed shock at hearing these comments on the liberal network.

Zakaria went on to criticize New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s plans to spend more on social programs, asking what has been done with the money that is already being spent.

“The subway deteriorates, housing costs rise and public schools remain mediocre, despite spending more than $36,000 per pupil last year, the highest in the nation among major school districts,” he said.
