Just in time for the busy Thanksgiving travel week, the U.S. Department of Transportation has released a video calling on travelers to restore civility and manners when flying.
“Manners don’t stop at the gate,” a narrator says in the video, which shows cheerful images of travel from the 1950s to 1990s – then cuts to brawls and arguments taking place on recent flights.
“Things aren’t what they used to be,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says as he asks whether travelers are assisting pregnant women, controlling their children and thanking their pilots and flight attendants.
“Let’s bring civility and manners back,” he says. “The golden age of travel begins with you.”
