Vice President JD Vance said he sends his children to Christian schools and attends church – often with his wife – as he prays for her to embrace the Christian faith.

Vance’s wife, Usha, grew up Hindu, but the couple considered themselves agnostic when they met. Vance has since converted to Christianity, being baptized into the Catholic faith, and now speaks openly – and unapologetically – about his beliefs.

“I think everybody has to have their own conversation when you’re in marriage,” he told students at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday during a Turning Point USA event with the organization’s CEO Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow. “You’ve just got to talk to the person that God has put you with, and you’ve got to make those decisions as a family unit.

“Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved by in church? Yeah, honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian gospel, and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.”
