WATCH: Trump tips ‘DoorDash Grandma’ after White House delivery highlighting no tax on tips

President Donald Trump had McDonald’s delivered to the Oval Office on Monday via DoorDash, and he almost forgot to tip the driver.

The delivery, by Sharon Simmons, who wore a shirt with the nickname “DoorDash Grandma,” was meant to highlight the impact of no tax on tips, which passed in Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act last year.

Simmons, of Arkansas, told Fox News she “probably saved $3,000-$4,000 with not having to pay” taxes, money that helped pay for her husband’s cancer treatments.

After the delivery, which was staged for TV cameras, Trump held a short press conference with Simmons. When a reporter asked if the White House were good tippers, Trump reached into his pocket and handed Simmons what was reported as a $100 bill.

“Thank you – you reminded me,” Trump said, as Simmons told the reporter, “Yes.”

One comment online noted how Trump had come full circle, working at a McDonald’s drive-thru during the 2024 campaign – which many credit with helping him win the election.
