Most parents would agree that raising our children is equally the most difficult and most rewarding endeavor we have ever undertaken. So why, then, is the president of the United States dead-set on making it even more difficult?

With Biden’s DOJ already sending the FBI after parents for speaking out at school board meetings and his economic policies forcing American households to face down record inflation, high gas and energy prices, baby formula shortages and food shortages, last week the president intensified his attack on America’s families.

And, this time, he’s aiming squarely at our children.

With an executive order on Wednesday, President Biden paved the way for doctors to provide life-altering, often irreversible “gender-affirmative” care for children, all without parental involvement or consent.

Gender-affirmative “care” means dangerous hormone treatments such as Lupron, which is also used to chemically castrate sex offenders, and permanent, body-mutilating sex change operations like the phalloplasty.

“It’s ironic that the Biden administration continues to claim their policies only support ‘affirming care’ while simultaneously defending and promoting permanent, harmful and irreversible sex-change operations for children,” Brock Juarez, a spokesperson for Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration, told Fox News Digital.

The agency, he said, recently released a report “that found several services for the treatment of gender dysphoria promoted by the federal government – i.e., sex reassignment surgery, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers – are not consistent with widely accepted professional medical standards, and are experimental and investigational with the potential for harmful long-term effects.”

If that isn’t bad enough, a recent study by the Heritage Foundation found that, “Lowering legal barriers to make it easier for minors to undergo cross-sex medical interventions without parental consent does not reduce suicide rates — in fact, it likely leads to higher rates of suicide among young people in states that adopt these changes.

“In the past several years, the suicide rate among those ages 12 to 23 has become significantly higher in states that have a provision that allows minors to receive routine health care without parental consent than in states without such a provision.

“Before 2010, these two groups of states did not differ in their youth suicide rates. Starting in 2010, when puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones became widely available, elevated suicide rates in states where minors can more easily access those medical interventions became observable.

“Rather than being protective against suicide, this pattern indicates that easier access by minors to cross-sex medical interventions without parental consent is associated with higher risk of suicide.”

Making things worse, Biden’s executive order also requires the Department of Education to provide mandates to public schools all over the country to indoctrinate children with controversial gender ideologies. This new order expands on a recent rule change that ties billions of dollars in federal education funding to an array of LGBT policies, forcing school districts and universities to implement controversial rules on issues such as transgender athletes in order to receive federal funding.

According to the White House Fact Sheet on the executive order, “The President’s Executive Order directs the Department of Education to establish a new Working Group on LGBTQI+ Students and Families, which will advance policies for states, school districts, and other educational institutions to promote safe and inclusive learning environments in which all students thrive.”

Radical gender identity curricula have been promoted by the left for children as young as kindergarten.  And gender-identity-themed programs are being promoted for children even younger.

So, the president wants schools to teach our children that they were born in the wrong body and wants doctors to treat them with harmful drugs and surgeries without the parents’ consent. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that all over the country, parents and patriots are fighting back.

Recently, lawsuits have been filed in California and Massachusetts on behalf of parents who say their children’s schools helped students begin the process of making a gender transition – and hid it from their parents. The California lawsuit alleges a 6th-grade student “was manipulated by teachers into believing she was transgender, and then encouraged by these teachers to hide this new gender identity from her mother.”

The Massachusetts lawsuit alleges teachers and other school staff, including a school counselor and librarian, encouraged students to experiment with gender identity and try out new names and pronouns, again without parental consent or knowledge.

In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis has already signed a bill prohibiting classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity for students younger than 4th grade, and has recently moved to end gender-affirming “care” for youth.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill into law last year banning transgender students from participating on school sports teams that align with their gender identity. Earlier this year, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick declared his intent to push for legislation similar to Florida’s parental rights law.

And in Pennsylvania, two state senators announced legislation that will prohibit classroom lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Try as the president might to control every aspect of our children’s lives, the parents of America are standing up for our rights in a fight for the very souls of our children.

It now appears this fight will only intensify as the midterm elections approach.
