Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Boston announced the arrest of three illegal immigrants, each for child rape.

The arrests mark the 39th time illegals in Massachusetts have been arrested for crimes against children in 2024, according to an analysis of the ICE arrest announcements by The Lion.

The news comes amidst a blistering report that the Biden administration ‘ignored’ 320,000 potentially trafficked children that entered the country and were possibly exploited, according to whistleblower testimony.

Officials are working to deport the child rapists, even as Boston Mayor Michelle Wu joins the land rush business in the state to declare the city a “sanctuary city” for illegal immigrants before President Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025.

Trump has promised to usher in the largest mass deportation event of illegal immigrants in the history of the U.S. once he takes office. In response, liberals around the country, including Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston have declared the cities sanctuaries for illegal immigrants. Trump and his “border czar” Tom Homan have said they will withhold federal funding from cities that don’t cooperate.

One of the Massachusetts men arrested in the latest charges, Alexandre Romao De Oliveira, of Brazil, was wanted in his home country after being convicted of child rape and sentenced to 14 years in jail by a Brazilian court, said ICE.

De Oliveira, 41, was convicted in Brazil in 2022 and crossed the border into the U.S. just months later at Santa Teresa, New Mexico. From there he was released from detention by the Department of Homeland Security after being warned to present himself to a Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review judge.

Critics have charged that the review system that has been used wholesale by President Biden to allow illegal immigrants to flow into the country freely and largely avoid scrutiny is illegal and has contributed to skyrocketing crime.

Also arrested is Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz, 21, of Guatemala, who is charged in Massachusetts with rape of a child by force, rape of a child and indecent assault and battery against a minor.

“Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz stands accused of horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts child and represents a significant threat to our neighborhoods,” said acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde of ICE Boston.

De Paz-Munoz crossed the border near Eagle Pass, Texas, and was released under the same review system as De Oliveira.

De Paz-Munoz was arrested previously on child sexual assault and battery charges in February but made bail and disappeared before he could be deported.

Additionally, ICE Boston announced the arrest of Billy Erney Buitrago-Bustos, 42, of Columbia, after he was charged in with rape of a child by force, statutory rape and aggravated rape against a minor.

Buitrago-Bustos entered the U.S. in 2016 and failed to leave after his visa expired, said ICE.

Hyde called his crimes “most heinous and reprehensible.”

Unfortunately, these heinous crimes by illegal immigrants are all too common in Massachusetts.

A review by The Lion of data on the ICE system show that the 39 arrests of illegals since Jan. 2024 include the crimes of homicide, rape and human trafficking against children in the Bay State alone.

Cities and towns all over the state are declaring themselves sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants, vowing not to cooperate with federal authorities in deportation schemes.

“Local police departments in the state of Massachusetts cannot — and I repeat — cannot enforce federal laws,” said Chief James Hicks of the Natick Police Department near Boston, according to local WCVB. “And, to be quite honest, departments the size of Natick and most like myself do not have the time or resources to take on those duties.”

Boston’s mayor said she just wants everyone to have a safe space.

“We want [illegal] immigrants to know that it is safe for everyone, to be able to feel comfortable reaching out for emergency services, to report a crime, to ask for help and generally to be part of our community,” Wu said.

But as these arrests show, Boston’s just not that safe for children.
