Former LGBT activist regrets ‘grooming’ kids in gender ideology

A former gay activist said she regrets indoctrinating kids into gender ideology, but she herself was indoctrinated before she really understood what the ideology was all about.

“I started to realize that what I had been doing at my job at the LGBT Center, it was grooming,” Kay Yang, who worked for a gay advocacy center in New York City, told Fox News.

“I had no idea that what I was doing at the time, I was being used as a Trojan horse for this, like, huge marketing campaign [for gender ideology]. I didn’t know what was going on that was normalizing these policies and these practices that are pushing irreversible medical damage on healthy children.”

Yang said she was often brought into schools and universities as an “expert” on LGBT issues, even though she had virtually no experience and was simply taught by her superiors what to say.

Yang now runs two websites: StopFemaleErasure.com, which advocates on behalf of biological women who don’t want to compete against biological males in sports; and TheDeprogrammer.com, which exposes the trans agenda aimed at kids.

She also works with parents and children individually to help deprogram kids who have been exposed to gender propaganda, according to the New York Post.

“A lot of these parents are completely bewildered,” Yang told the Post. “A lot of them noticed a marked difference in their children’s behavior. Then all of a sudden ‘she’ identifies as ‘he.’ A lot of this is like a cult, except parents don’t realize their child is being indoctrinated – not from an old-fashioned cult that takes you away somewhere but through schools and their devices. This is happening to kids everywhere, even those with a robust family life.”

She is also working toward making sure the words we identify with biological females aren’t erased from the world’s lexicon – words such as woman, girl, female and mother. She says such words are being replaced by “pregnant person,” “menstruator,” “chest feeder,” “cervix owner,” and others that she finds offensive.

Protecting “gender identity” is incompatible with protecting the gender identity of biological girls and women, she argues.

“I’m really concerned that our children are being told complete untruths about themselves and their bodies and the world around them, and that’s setting them up for danger, and it’s setting them up to internalize feelings of shame against their own body just for being a male or being a female,” she told Fox News.

“And I really think that all people, but especially children, should be taught to love and respect their body and grow to accept the body that they were born in – and whether that’s a male or a female. And I’m very concerned that this ideology is grooming young girls to believe that they don’t need sex-based rights anymore, and grooming them to promote this ideology. Because that’s what happened to me.”

Yang told the Epoch Times corporations are planning on cashing in on transgenderism because they believe that over a long period of time, the customization of the body will grow more popular, even if they do have to lose a little money now.

“That money, to them, is nothing,” and the companies, she said, are “being promised that, ‘OK, you might lose a little bit now. But you’ll make it in the new economy. And you’ll still be here. And all the businesses that don’t go along with this, we’ll make sure that they’re excluded.’”
