Betting that pro-life voters who helped propel President Donald Trump to victory can do the same for congressional candidates, a prominent pro-life group is launching an $80 million investment ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America and its partner, super PAC Women Speak Out, announced they would invest “tens of millions in funding to retain pro-life majorities” in the House and Senate. The groups said they plan to reach 10.5 million voters through canvassing, advertising, and voter contact mail – and will conduct more than 4 million visits to voters at their homes across key battleground states, including Iowa, Georgia, Michigan and North Carolina.

“Republicans simply cannot win without their pro-life base, especially in midterm elections when overall turnout drops. Pro-life voters are the heart and soul of the Republican Party,” SBA president Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement provided to The Lion. “Our mission is to fire up pro-life Americans who do not consistently vote in midterms and convince persuadable voters to reject the Democrats’ extreme all-trimester abortion agenda.”

The majority – 57% – of Republicans and independent voters who lean Republican say abortion “should be illegal in all or most cases,” Pew Research polling in June indicates, while 85% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents say abortion should be legal in all or most instances.

“The party that once claimed the position of ‘safe, legal and rare’ is now the party of abortion anytime, anywhere, paid for by the taxpayer,” Dannenfelser added. “The Democrats have become unrecognizable as they continue to embrace second and third trimester abortions and won’t even outlaw the killing of babies who survive failed abortions. We must retain our pro-life majorities in both houses to stop this extremism and prevent the abortion lobby from clawing back $500 million in taxpayer funding for their own political machine.”

The group plans to focus on pro-life supporters who skip midterm elections as well as swing voters who could be persuaded on the issue. Citing a CNN poll, the groups noted that Trump won a whopping 91% of the pro-life vote and that he would not have won the election if even 1% to 2% of those voters had not turned out to vote.

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, ending a national right to abortion and returning state authority to regulate the issue, abortion has been a major point of contention in state and local races. Most recently, abortion loomed over elections in both New Jersey and Virginia, as The Lion reported, in the only two states electing a governor in 2025.
