Middle school students in Seattle made pro-LGBT cards accusing Moms for Liberty of oppressing and bullying LGBT students, which a teacher, now on leave, sent to the organization with a letter.

Social studies teacher Ann Christianson is also the Genders & Sexualities Alliances (GSA) coordinator, according to screenshots of the letter and cards, shared online by Moms for Liberty.

“Please read the enclosed cards from concerned middle school students in Seattle, Washington,” Christianson’s letter reads.

One card showed an image of a heart with a pride rainbow, split in two, and the words, “Moms for Liberty – My heart when people are homophobic. Stop!” There were also five smiley faces.

“Dear Moms for Liberty, stop bullying and excluding LGBTQ+ youth and families,” another card reads. “It hurts people who want to love who they love and be who they are. The oppressed are always the protagonists.”

Lines from other cards also read, “Gay is slay, stop being a rat,” “Love is love. UR wrong! GROW UP! I’m more mature than you,” and “I say gay. Girl love.”

In its response on X, Moms for Liberty warned the cards are an example of indoctrination and the weaponization of children by leftist teachers.

“Seattle Public Schools are spending class time indoctrinating and weaponizing your children,” the post says. “The building of the Red Guard in America.”

The Red Guard is a reference to the socialist and cultural youth movements in China mobilized by Mao Zedong, the chairman of the Communist Party of China in the mid-1900’s.

“Class time spent radicalizing your kids,” parental rights activist Scarlett Johnson wrote in reply to the X post. “Imagine if a teacher had organized a letter writing campaign to President Biden, encouraging him to stop making changes that would allow boys to go into girls bathrooms, locker rooms and compete on all female teams?”

The Lion emailed Christianson to ask whether students made the cards during class or during a GSA club meeting, as well as to confirm any formal approval by the district. However, an auto-reply read in part, “I am currently on a leave of absence and not checking email.” An email for comment to Assistant Principal Madeline Benz went unreturned by time of publication.

The package’s return address lists the Health Education Office (HEO) and the school district’s main office, the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence (JSCEE), according to the image shared by Moms for Liberty.

The HEO promotes LGBT programs, curricula, and support, as shared by the school district’s website. It is “proud” to have GSA student groups, which are at “almost all high schools and many middle schools” in the district.

Earlier this year, Fox News revealed a Seattle Public Schools official told a teacher “parents should not be notified [of pronoun change] without student permission, regardless of age.”

A Seattle parent also discovered an LGBT flag in front of an elementary school in May and shared it to Twitter.

“@SeaPubSchools doesn’t even try to hide its political tribalism,” he wrote.
