Two judges in different states are in hot water after helping illegal immigrants hide from authorities, and in one case, possibly provided weapons.

On Friday, Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by FBI agents in Milwaukee after officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said the judge helped an illegal immigrant in her courtroom evade capture.

In a post on X, which was later deleted, FBI Director Kash Patel said federal authorities believed Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse,” reported the New York Post.

That individual appears to be Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, an alleged Mexican illegal immigrant facing three misdemeanor battery counts, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Flores-Ruiz appeared in Dugan’s courtroom April 18 for a pre-trial conference.

The Sentinel reports the suspect is facing charges stemming from an incident on March 12, when he allegedly punched someone 30 times and then hit a woman.

If convicted on all charges, Flores-Ruiz is facing a maximum sentence of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine for each of three class A misdemeanors. The charges also contain a domestic violence modification which could bring additional penalties.

The Sentinel attempted to talk to the judge on Thursday about the allegations she helped Flores-Ruiz avoid detention, but Dugan reportedly declined.

Later in an email, Dugan admitted she led Flores-Ruiz to a private side door away from the ICE officers, but denied it was an attempt to allow the illegal immigrant to flee, reports the Wisconsin Examiner.

Previously, Dugan allegedly had turned away the ICE agents from the court, claiming they did not present a warrant.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi later confirmed the arrest of Dugan, proclaiming, “No one is above the law.”

The judge’s case wasn’t helped by a liberal Wisconsin House member who publicly congratulated Dugan for being part of the resistance to Trump’s attempt to deport criminal illegal aliens.

“I commend Judge Hannah Dugan’s defense of due process by preventing ICE from shamefully using her courtroom as an ad hoc holding area for deportations,” Democratic Rep. Ryan Clancy said in a statement posted on Instagram.

“While the facts in this case are still unfolding, it’s clear that actions like Judge Dugan’s are what is required for democracy to survive the Trump Regime,” Clancy added. “She used her position of power and privilege to protect someone from an agency that has repeatedly, flagrantly abused its own power.”

Clancy’s letterhead is topped by a radical blue power fist, often associated with black militancy, but recently appropriated by white, urban liberals.

Republican state Rep. Bob Donovan condemned the judge’s actions.

“I have never seen a more irresponsible act by an officer of the court, let alone a judge, if true,” said Donovan, reported the Wisconsin Examiner.

But that may be because Donovan hasn’t yet read the case of ex-judge Joe Cano, from New Mexico, who has also been swept up in a Trump administration cracked down on the judiciary for hiding illegal immigrants.

Cano and his wife have been arrested after allegedly harboring three men with alleged links to the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, reports local KFOX News.

KFOX said the men hid out in a cottage on the judge’s property after they were hired to do some home repairs.

The judge resigned from the bench in March after one of the men was arrested on his property, reports Newsweek.

Cano was subsequently barred permanently from serving on the court by the New Mexico Supreme Court.

The ex-judge and his wife, Nancy, were later arrested by federal agents and are facing charges of tampering with evidence, said KFOX.

The judicial commission which investigated Cano alleges that in addition to harboring the illegal immigrant gang members, he also provided them with firearms, said local KOAT News.

“Doña Ana County has been a hotbed of illegal immigration and drug trafficking, human smuggling for many, many years,” former ICE Field Office Director John Fabbricatore said, reported Fox News Digital. “To see that a judge would allow this to happen, it’s very concerning. It’s concerning. What else has the judge been doing?”

It’s unclear if federal authorities will charge Cano on weapons violations or on human trafficking violations for illegally hiring the men to do the work on his property.
