A Washington state mom is upset with Seattle Public Schools (SPS) after her child was marked down for giving the correct, scientific answers in an Ethnic Studies quiz.

The quiz was first reported after the mother reached out to conservative talk show host Jason Rantz of Seattle’s KTTH 770 AM.

Two questions involving sexual identity were marked incorrectly, said Rantz.

One involved the inability of men to get pregnant, which the student answered correctly, and the other involved whether only men have penises, which the student also answered correctly.

The teacher administering the quiz, however, marked the answers given by the student as incorrect.

The true-false quiz was part of a 10th grade World History class at Chief Sealth International High School.

“I keep trying to wrap my head around how it is legal to teach inaccurate information and force students to answer against their beliefs or receive negative scores,” the mom told Rantz.

Libs of TikTok reposted the graphic from the Rantz story that showed the quiz questions, writing, “You cannot make this up. A teacher failed a student for answering on a quiz that men can’t get pregnant and all men have p*n*ses.”

Rantz confirmed to The Lion that the images in the graphic came from the actual quiz.

SPS is being “tight-lipped” about the controversy, said Seattle’s KOMO News, and only confirmed the story in a roundabout way.

When asked by KOMO about the incident, the district said simply that the student’s final grade would not be impacted by the quiz.

At the same time, the district tried to defend the quiz without directly talking about the incident.

“SPS is committed to fostering inclusive environments that encourage the exploration of contemporary issues, particularly the examination of power systems such as racism and patriarchy,” the SPS spokesperson told KOMO’s Crisis in the Classroom reporter. “This dedication extends to providing a space for thoughtful exploration and dialogue on these issues.”

When pressed by KOMO to further explain, the district simply referred back to the statement.

“SPS isn’t interested in saying much because they know they’ll be mocked for supporting the notion that men can get pregnant or women have penises,” Rantz told The Lion. “They know it’s driven by politics, so they don’t want to bring too much attention to their indoctrination.”

Meanwhile the mom told the Rantz show she is “proud” of her son “because he refused to answer against his beliefs (which are medically and scientifically accurate, or at least used to be).”

Rantz said that the mom identifies as a moderate liberal, but is concerned with the political direction inside Seattle classrooms.

“It shows a disconnect between progressive activists pushing gender extremism and the views of their own party,” said Rantz.

The talk show host says he is further troubled that the quiz doesn’t seem connected to World History in any way, and that tests with highly-charged political bias could be used by liberals to identify and harass those who don’t agree with them.

The mother told Rantz that teachers have already called her son “f****d and racist,” a “product of the patriarchy that teaches young boys not to care about anything,” and that “he shouldn’t use the term ‘straight’ to identify as because its offensive.”
